The Voltage:
The GoveeLife Smart Diffuser is one of those products that just does what it does amazingly well and comes with so many great features that it makes you want to use this product everyday. The app gives you so many customization options and allows you to set it up to work whenever and however you need it to. The ability to schedule when you want it to run makes this little guy extra helpful and makes my home feel so much more homey. I love walking through that door knowing that it's going to smell amazing!
The Life With GoveeLife
This is my second product from Govee that I've tried, and I'm starting to really like Govee Smart Appliances. Not only are they very useful products, but the app is so easy to use and customizability bring these products to a whole nother level. I find myself using the Govee products just about every day, sometimes multiple times a day. GoveeLife has a great ecosystem of appliances to choose from that will match just about anyone's needs. First Impression Of The GoveeLife Smart Diffuser
The first time I used the GoveeLife Smart Diffuser I found it very straightforward and didn't feel lost at all. I like how they had the quick-start guide right on the top of the product so you learned very quickly how to get this diffuser working. A big point that they made is that they definitely didn't want you to add any liquids into the air outlet. However, while I was unboxing this diffuser the spoon fell out and I was confused hehehe. I was like, is this for measuring the oils or what? This had me look into the manual, and I found out it was the water flap and that it stayed inside the product.
The RGBIC lighting is really slick, and it comes with a dozen great options, so you can choose which one fits the room or your mood. I didn't purchase the one with sound unfortunately, so I won't be able to get into that because it was supposed to be for the living room, but my girlfriend loves it so much that she brings it into the bedroom when it's time for bed.
After figuring all that out, I just added the water to the max fill line, then added 10 drops of the pure essential oils that I bought to go along with this diffuser, and then turned it on. It worked great without the app but once you added the app to the mix it became so much better!
Govee Home App
The app is one of the reasons I love Govee products! When you first get into the app, the first thing you gotta do is connect it to the WI-FI, but just keep in mind it can only connect to a 2.4GHz WI-FI network. Oh yeah, it does let you change the name on the smart app as well in case you have two of the same things, so on the home screen of the app you have to find the one you want to control and tap it.
Once you tap the diffuser in the Govee Home App, you get into the home screen for this product with two tabs on top, which say Custom and Scenes and a power button between the two. The power button of course turns the diffuser on and off.
On the top right corner is a gear icon that gets you into the settings. This is where you can rename the device and it gives you other options to choose from such as Button setting which allows you to save your favorite scenes into the manual button so you don't have to get into the app to switch between them. You also have the option to turn off both the Waterless Push and the Uncover To Stop if you would like, and lastly you have the WI-FI setting here too!
Now let's get into the Custom tab shall we? In that tab you have 2 options for the mist exhaust which are low and high. The next option you have is the light option which you can change the brightness or just turn it off. In the Light option you can press the little arrow and it gives you the ability to customize your light from 25 different scenes as well as color and even create your own RGBIC scene.
The next tab is the Scene tab. In this tab you have the option to choose between 12 scenes. You can also edit in which these scenes populate this tab. Think of this as a quick scene option where the light is more in-depth option.
On the bottom of both of these tabs, you have the scheduling option, which allows you to set your diffuser to turn on or off automatically at a specific time. I use this daily because I like the diffuser to be on for about 30 minutes before I come home to make sure the house smells amazing when I get in. Nothing better than walking into a great-smelling house, that's for sure!
Under that you have a timer which is suppose to turn it off or on within a certain amount time, however I've been having issues with it turning off. Then the last thing you have is the indicator light which allows you to turn on or off the little light around the circle that is the on/off switch.
The Good & The Bad
The Good:
The App- The app is great and allows you so much control and really lets this smart diffuser shine.
Customization- The ability to customize everything from how much mist you want it to exhaust to what RGBIC you want on while it's running is an amazing feature.
Scheduler- I'm a huge fan of the scheduler because it makes it easy to set it up so that you can walk into a pleasant-smelling house without you having to remember to turn it on.
Safety Features- When the Govee diffuser runs too low on water it will send you a push notification as well as auto shut off which is a great feature to have, it will also let you know if the voltage is too low.
The Bad:
Timer- I have been having issues with the timer going off when I go to bed because I don't want it to run all night so I set it for two hours however, when I wake up the next morning it's still on and running.
Scent Gets Weaker- I must say for the first couple of hours, the scent is great and strong but after that it slowly gets weaker until I can't smell anything anymore.
Final Thoughts
The GoveeLife Smart Essential Oil Diffuser is an amazing product that I've been using every day since I got it. There were a couple of issues that I found, but the whole package altogether is great and has been making my home so much cozier. I used to have automatic air fresheners in just about every room in my apartment but with this I don't think I'm going to need those anymore! To be fair it doesn't reach everywhere in my apartment but I'll probably just move from room to room or just buy a second one. So, if you're looking for something that is easy to use and will make your home more welcoming, I think you can't go wrong getting the GoveeLife Smart Essential Oil Diffuser!
