The Rocket Book
Pro | Con |
---|---|
Reusable | Hard To Fix Small Errors |
So Many Different Styles To Choose From | OCR Issues |
Digital Organization | Lefites Might Have Issues |
The Voltage:
The Rocket Book Core is a great tool for all your writing needs! Though it has some issues such as some OCR problems here and there and it being a little difficult to edit at times, this being said I still think this is a great buy if your into handwriting notes or drawing thing up. The reusability and the organization that comes with this package alone justifies itself to me. However, if you are left-handed just know it may be a bit of a headache to use because of the ink smudging. All in all I would buy this again and I’m actually thinking about buying the bigger one with the line format to be honest!

I find myself writing a lot all the time, and I have been going through notebooks like crazy, so I decided to try something a little different. I was looking at big, expensive tablet-like writing tools, but then I came across The Rocket Book Core in the Executive size!
The Rocket Book seemed to have everything I was looking for from reusability to being able to sort and find certain things I wrote down. It just seemed like a tool I could get a lot of productivity out of.
I have never used a reusable notebook so this should be very interesting! These are the things I learned from my experiences of using The Rocket Book!
First Impression

When I first got the book the feel of it felt very plasticy to me. It felt like I was writing on laminated paper and it was something I got used to after a little bit but at first it was a little weird.
When I bought The Rocket Book Core I didn't realize that there were different options to choose from such as line, dot grid, blank, and a good amount of others. If I had known that I would have gotten the line one but I ended up with the dot grid, which to be fair I can use just as well as the the lined one!
The book that I got came with a Frixion pen and cloth for cleaning. I have found that it's a bit hard to fix any errors because you have to get it wet and then wipe it off so be very careful if you have to try and fix something on the page, you might accidentally erase more than you wanted to.
Rocket Book Core Pages

The Rocket Book I Bought came with 18 pages but they are 2 sided so it comes out to 36 pages altogether. I would think that this would give you enough room for writing notes for just about any session or class. Just be careful flipping pages it's a little on the snug side at first.
On the page, you have a title section on the top then next to that is for the date if you want to add that to the page. There is a Tag section on the bottom right that will help with the organization and allow you to the ability to search for and group the notes, list, drawing, etc.
On the bottom left, there is a QR code that helps the software see the page and scan it as well as gives the software more information on formatting and version of the book. Right next to those you have 7 different icons and those are used to change the destination to which you send the information on the page to different cloud service apps.
The App

The app that you use with The Rocket Book is very user-friendly and has a lot of options that come in handy and helps keep things organized and flowing well. One such option in the app is the ability to look at the history and search for the information you're looking for directly from the app.
There is also a Smart List tap inside the software that allows you to make quick list in the app itself or create a digital version of the list you made inside the notebook. This also allows you to edit, add, or check off parts of your list without having to change the physical copy.
The most important part of the app is the scan tab feature that allows you to scan and save anything written on the page as well as the destination tap that allows you to send it to cloud services so you can fetch it at a later date. The destination tab allows you to use those 7 icons on the bottom to send them to different emails, cloud storage, or even different folders within the cloud storage. For instance, I have two icons saved to the destination of the Icloud but to two different folders within the same app
The app is great however I did find that sometimes the scan feature won't pick up the information on the page in an eligible fashion so you just have to rescan it from time to time.
The Good & The Bad

There are good and bad that come with just about any product. Let us go over the bad first before we get into why I think this product is a great tool for productivity. So let's get into it shall we?
(Cons)
An issue I have come across while using The Rocket Book Core is that I run into OCR (Optical Character Recognition) issues. Of course, that may just be because my handwriting looks like chicken scratch but I find I keep running into those issues.
Then there is the issue of fixing small errors that I find kinda hard to do. If you just want to erase a word or fix a misspelling be very careful because you may erase more than you were trying to. You maybe able to find something that helps such as a water pen for those fixes.
The last thing I want to talk about is that those of you who may be of the left-handed variety may have a little bit of an issue using the rocket book because the ink is very easy to smear if it hasn't dried yet.
(Pros)
Now off to the great things that I found while using this product! One such boon is that it is reusable and that in itself is great because I know I for one have ran through so many notebooks taking notes and such that I feel like this is a great Pro. It definitely helps me feel better by not having all those notebooks lying around never to be picked up again.
The customizability of being able to choose a Rocket Book for any situation with its 11 different styles, different sizes, and many different colors. This lets allows you to match your taste and need at the same time.
I really love Digitial orginazation that is included with The Rocket Book Core. It really helpful being able to find something just by searching in the search bar instead of having to look through a bunch of notebooks( and perhaps missing it).
Conclusion

The Rocket Book is a great tool to keep you productive with enough pages to keep you rolling for a good while. The reusability is very easy just wet it and wipe it down and you're good to go for your next portion of writing. The app is a great feature that allows you to keep everything organized and within reach whenever you need it. Just keep in mind the issues I talked about but other than that I think this is a great purchase. I don’t think I’ll ever have to buy a notebook ever again!
