I used to always carry a pocket knife around with me at all times however in the last few years it has changed to carrying a Leatherman with me because of the versatility of it. There's nothing worse than working on a project and then having to stop and look for a flathead, Philips, or some other tool. The solid and heavy-duty build of the Leatherman is on another level and it comes with a 25-year warranty so you know it's built to last.

This Leatherman Wingman comes with 14 tools in one convenient little package. From a knife to a package opener they got you covered. The Wingman also comes with a nifty little carrying pouch that connects to the belt if you do not want to connect it using the pocket clip.

First-Hand Experience

Leatherman Wingman And Carrying Pouch

I very much enjoyed using my Leatherman because it feels solid in the hand like it is ready to get some work done and the tools on it give no play. The tools that come with the Wingman are heavy-duty and through my years of using them, I haven't broken one yet. I love the feel of The Leatherman Wingman however, after prolonged use it can cause pain to the hand and pinching if you're not used to it.

I've always found the Leatherman useful and it comes in handy regularly so I feel it is worth the purchase. The pocket clip on the Leatherman is very tight so it will hold onto your pocket very securely and if it starts getting loose you can always just replace it. It also comes with a handy little carrying pouch that can be used if you want to keep your pockets clear.

The tools on the Leatherman are very durable and I have no fear of them breaking. The Philips, medium, and small screwdrivers have saved me so much time on a regular basis that I feel off if I'm not carrying it. The spring-action pliers are amazing and I use this probably the most out of all the tools. The file and the can/bottle opener are the tools I really don't use all that often but they are nice to have just in case.

The combo knife is 2.6 inches long and has both a straight edge on the top and a serrated edge on the bottom. Then the scissors are spring-action which makes them very easy to use and the neat thing about both the knife and the scissors is that they are one-handed so you can release them with one hand. Both these are very useful tools and the lock on the knife is very strong.

I've taken this thing everywhere( that I'm allowed to that is hehehe)and I've always found some use for it no matter what I am doing. It's strong built quality and functionality are top tiers and that's why I've bought two of these through the years for personal use. Not to mention I buy these as gifts often come Christmas time because I like them so much and I've gotten so much use out of this Leatherman.

The Good & The Bad

Leatherman Wingman Pliers

The Bad:

The Leatherman Wingman doesn't have many issues with itself however, I have found a couple. One of those issues is that I have found that when you use it for extended amounts of time it can cause hand pain. Of course that happens a lot with hand tools but I think that the stainless steel grip is the culprit in this situation.

Another issue I have with this Leatherman is that it can get very slippery sometimes while using it because of the slick stainless steel finish. The next negative I have is that while using pliers I have pinched myself pretty badly several times. If you do end up getting these just make sure to keep these small issues in the back of your mind.

The last negative I have is that after a few years, it did start getting a little tough to move the tools on the inside. I'm sure if I worked on it I could have gotten them looser but I just got another.

The Good:

Now I do have to say The Leatherman Wingman is my everyday carry so I might be a little biased however, I love this little tool from the look to the efficiency. That being said these are the pros I have found while using this tool.

The ability to one-hand operate the knife and the scissors in case your other hand is full is a great feature, not to mention the rest of the 14 tools that are folded within this Leatherman. Another point on the tools is how heavy-duty it is built so that I never have that fear of breaking them with everyday use.

The spring-action pliers and scissors as well as the smoothness that the other tools are able to deploy is a great feature. The three different screwdrivers are a plus so you're able to take care of just about any situation if needed. Then there is the pocket clip that is removable if it gets too loose, that way you can always make sure your Leatherman is always secured.

Conclusion

Leatherman Wingman side by side

This Leatherman is an easy tool to carry around with you that is super versatile and ready for just about any situation. This 14-1 Tool will help you get the job in front of you done without having to waste time looking for tools that are on the Leatherman. The Wingman is a solid-built tool that you won't have to worry too much about with its beautiful and sleek stainless steel body. With all that said and done, I would say that the Leatherman Wingman is a great tool that has some amazing features that outweigh the negatives. I know it has saved me so much time and I would highly recommend it as one of my top-tier multitools that I use on a daily basis!
