What is a dehumidifier and do I need one? Those were the questions I asked myself when I saw one pop up while surfing the web. It looked interesting and I did a little research and found that its primary job is to absorb the humidity in the environment around it. But not only that I found it has a few more uses. One such use is to control dust mites and help alleviate some allergies by keeping the humidity low. Also while we are talking about those pesky dust mites a dehumidifier also makes your dwelling less homie for pests such as cockroaches, centipedes, etc by lowering the moisture in the air, so you don't have those nice damp corners that they like so much. It also helps remove odors and helps reduce the risk of mold forming. If you want to dry your clothes inside the house you might want to use a dehumidifier not only does it keep the moisture at bay but it helps dry them out a little faster. The last positive I'm going to talk about is comfort level, a lower humidity room will be way more comfortable to be in than a high humidity room even at the same temperature!
While I was doing my research on dehumidifiers I found a few things you might wanna look out for if you are planning on getting one. If you already live in a dry climate you probably aren't going to need one of these and if you have sensitive skin or hair that gets irritated by dry climates you you might wanna skip on the dehumidifier. The other thing I learned is that if you are sick and have a dry cough or runny nose it may do more harm than good for some. The last thing I want to go over is the price because not only is it a little pricey it will also increase your electric bill.
With all this research I figured I outta buy one and see what is what, So I did and I bought the ToLife Dehumidifier!
ToLife Dehumidifier

The ToLife humidifier is a simple thing that you pretty much just plug in and let it run, which is a positive to me because I always like things that aren't overly complicated. It comes with a 95 oz water tank for catching all the liquid while it's absorbing all the humidity in the room. It has three buttons on the front of it and that is all you need to control it. The first button is the nighttime mode which makes it run quieter as well as turns off the ambiance lighting for a good night's sleep. The next button is the ambiance lighting effect which once you turn it on it starts cycling through all the colors, but once you find the color you want it to stay on you hit the ambiance lighting button to keep it at that color. If you don't want the light to be on at all you just have to hit it for a second time and that will turn off the light altogether. Then the last button is the power button.
More About The ToLife Dehumidifier

The ToLife Dehumidifier is compact at 8.27" Long, 5.55 " Wide, and 13.78" height so it's rather easy to move around the house when it's needed in other areas of the home. The max size of room that this ToLife dehumidifier is rated for is 950 square feet. The ambiance lighting effect has 7 different colors to choose from or you can just turn it off, whichever you prefer that would go with the room that it is occupying. I find that the ToLife is rather quiet even in the regular mode, so honestly I never change it to nighttime mode. The 95 oz water tank has an automatic shut-off once it hits the max capacity of liquid that way it doesn't overfill and leak all over the place (wouldn't that be ironic) the ambiance lighting will also turn red to notify you its time to empty the water tank.
How's It Working So Far

The ToLife has been in use in my apartment for a while now and so far so good. I really like how small it is, how well it works, and how quiet it is! I've been having issues where I've been waking up and having a sneezing fit (about 5-7 sneezes) and an itchy throat, but since I've been using this in my room I haven't had any of those issues. I can really feel the difference between my bedroom where it's running and the living room, so that comfortability is really there. The water tank looks like I'll be changing it out about once a week for me at least, which isn't really that bad to be honest. All in all, if you are looking for a compact, quiet, and easy to use dehumidifier then the ToLife Dehumidifier may be just what you are looking for!
